Most people are doubtful when it comes to baking soda as an acne treatment. Well then it’s time to end the debate. Yes, baking soda is an effective pimple treatment. And this is basically from personal experience. Following are some home acne treatments for baking soda.

Face mask

Baking soda acne treatment is pretty basic but produces excellent results. Most people combine the powder with water to make a paste. The paste is then placed on the skin for fifteen minutes. This cleans off dirt from the skin and allows for a fresher looking facial surface. You can do this at least four times a week, preferably before going to bed. Of course, like other home acne remedies, you must first wash your face with warm water before doing this. Rubbing towel on your skin is also not a good idea. Ideally, drying should be done by patting or dabbing the towel on the face.

Baking Soda Spot Treatment

Now this method of treating acne with baking soda is pretty much the same with the first one. However, what you do is place the paste on the pimple itself. This can be removed later in the morning with warm water. What this does is removes the oils on the skin by drying them out. Again, a clean towel is necessary to pat dry.

Scars and baking soda

It has also been said that baking soda can minimize the amount of scarring produced by pimples. Most people are very adamant about the truthfulness of this method.

Testing Baking Soda

People who have sensitive skin are not advised to use this acne treatment method. If you want to do a skin test, first place baking soda paste on the inside of your wrist. Let it stay there for some time. If your skin starts to flush or itch, then skip the treatment altogether.

You can still try a number of treatment if this doesn’t work for you. You can try checking out pumpkin, garlic or even toothpaste. You can use either garlic or pumpkin as face masks. Both are also capable of healing scars. Placing toothpaste on the pimple is also effective.

Keep in mind that these may take time to work. However, you should be able to achieve results if you stick to one program. Also, don’t forget that you should get plenty of exercise and eat healthy. This will supply your skin with the necessary nutrients to keep it healthy. Wash your face often and remove any trace of dirt or make up.
